  • The limit on annual contributions to an IRA has increased to $7,000, up from $6,500.
  • You can now rollover up to $35,000 from a 529 plan to an IRA, free of income tax or tax penalties.
  • Social Security recipients will see their monthly payments rise by 3.2%, a cost of living adjustment resulting in an average $1,907/month, up from $1,848/month in 2023.

Planning for retirement is one of the most important decisions in your life. Staying informed of changes to Social Security, Medicare costs, retirement plan contributions, and more, can impact your retirement finances and your planning.

Planning is critical to your financial future. Starting at an early age allows you to retire early. It allows you to gauge whether you are “on track” to afford your desired lifestyle in retirement. It provides important considerations such as the establishment of an emergency reserve of three to six months of expenses, which for retirees can be key to staying on track. It is often a long-term journey that requires diversification beyond cash.
