Important Information for all EGCC Students
As you may be aware, Eastern Gateway Community College (EGCC) will dissolve on October 31st, 2024. As part of the closure procedure, the college will be shutting down systems and services over the next several months. This includes access to the student portal, email, OneDrive, and all other student services using your EGCC student account. A follow up communication will be sent out when an official date for the deactivation of all student accounts. For up-to-date information on the closure of the college, please visit the college’s website and the Teachout page under the FAQ section for updates.
Here are some suggested steps and information.
1.Download Important Documents & Emails: Save any important emails, assignments, and documents from your student accounts. You can use Google Takeout, a free tool that allows users to download a copy of their Google data, such as documents, calendars, and photos, for backup or other purposes. 2. Update Personal Correspondence: If you have any personal correspondence being sent to your student email (e.g., newsletters, subscriptions), update them with your personal email account as soon as possible.
3.Update External Services: If you have any subscriptions or services linked to your student email, update them to a personal email address.
4.Official Transcripts: You can request your official transcript electronically 24/7 through Parchment. Click on the link to visit Parchment.
5.Syllabus Repository: A school may request a syllabus when a student transfers to evaluate the course and determine whether to grant credits, approve prerequisites, or allow entry into a program. A syllabus can provide information about what was taught in the class, such as course content, requirements, assignments, deadlines, and how grades are calculated. This information can help the school understand what the student learned and whether they meet the requirements for the program. EGCC has made course syllabi available to students from Fall 2020 through Summer 2024. Students requesting course syllabi for course equivalency, transferability, or verification can now easily obtain them from the Teachout website.
6.Contact Information: Ensure EGCC has your current address and other personal contact information. To update your name, address, phone number, personal email address, or any other directory information, contact the Registrar’s Office atregistrar@egcc.edu, or by phone at (800) 682-6553, Ext 2911.
