The VMHTI 2026 Conference, Beyond the Uniform is a free two-day live virtual conference that explores the diverse identities, generations, and experiences within the veteran community, equipping clinicians with culturally responsive tools and perspectives. The conference is open to all, regardless of NASW membership.

This training deepens clinical competency in assessing and treating suicidal ideation and self-injurious behaviors across the lifespan. Drawing on evidence-based CBT and DBT approaches, participants will gain practical frameworks for evaluating risk, building collaborative safety plans, and implementing emotion-regulation and distress-tolerance techniques. Guidance on engaging and supporting caregivers is woven throughout.
