Eastern Gateway Community College FAQs

The Court has granted Eastern Gateway Community College Preliminary Injunction Motion against the Department of Education (ED). While EGCC celebrates this much-needed relief for their students, the underlying litigation and Program Review with the Department of Education is ongoing, and the result may impact the Free & Low Cost College Benefit. The College will continue to inform its students, employees, and stakeholders of any updates and next steps. In addition, these FAQs are subject to change.

I am a new student, am I able to enroll for the Spring 2023 semester under the Free College Benefit?

Yes. You will be able to enroll at EGCC under the Free College Benefit for the Spring 2023 semester. Please reach out to an admissions counselor to take your next steps in the enrollment process at (833) 465-2505.

When will Spring 2023 Registration open?

Spring registration open now.

How do I register for classes?

Current students will be able to use self-registration via the Student Portal. For assistance in self-registering in your student portal, click here to watch the YouTube Tutorial.

New and current students will be able to make an appointment with an Academic Advisor for registration. 

Will I still be able to participate in the Gateway Guarantee program?

You may be eligible for the Gateway Guarantee program. To be eligible for the EGCC Gateway Guarantee, students in the service district must complete 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Additional FAFSA documentation may be necessary, and students must complete the college application. If you have questions about whether or not you may qualify for the Gateway Guarantee, please contact the Financial Aid Help Desk at (833) 465-2505, option 2.

When does the Spring Semester begin?

The Spring 2023 Semester begins, January 9, 2023.
